The Nail Technician provides professional nail care services while delivering an exceptional spa experience for guests and clients. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to cleanliness, sanitation, and guest service. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in a variety of nail care techniques, maintains high service standards, and supports the overall success of the spa through guest education and retail recommendations. Sun Valley Nail Technicians are compensated on a 30–45% commission-based pay structure.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide professional nail care services in accordance with spa protocols and industry standards
- Conduct guest consultations to assess needs and recommend appropriate treatments and products
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of workstations, tools, and equipment in accordance with spa policies and state regulations
- Complete services within established treatment times while maintaining quality standards
- Maintain accurate guest records and treatment notes as required
- Educate guests on retail products, home care recommendations, and spa offerings
- Support spa promotions, special events, and departmental initiatives as needed
- Collaborate with spa team members to support overall guest satisfaction and departmental success
- Assist Spa leadership with operational and guest service needs as requested
- Maintain flexibility with scheduling based on business demands
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Current Idaho State Nail Technician license required
- Formal education from an accredited cosmetology or nail technician program, apprenticeship, or equivalent training required
- Previous spa or resort experience preferred
- Knowledge of manicure, pedicure, gel, shellac, acrylic, and related nail care techniques
- Strong guest service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to recommend products and services based on guest needs
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to sanitation and safety standards
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn spa operational systems
- CPR/First Aid certification and nail artistry experience are a plus
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, and reaching
- Can safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
