Job Summary
Designs and provides music therapy to address patient physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs for individual and group sessions for both adult and pediatric population, inpatient and outpatient services. Develops and implements individualized music therapy treatment programs based on patient populations and level of functioning. Participates in student learning and provides opportunities for students to observe and participate in music therapy activities. Provides a structured use of music or musical activities to influence changes in maladaptive conditions of behavior patterns thereby assisting children achieve therapeutic goals.Essential Functions
Supervisory/Management Responsibility
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Education - Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy. Completion of an approved Music Therapy Program from a college/university preferred
Experience - One (1) year experiences. Experience with children preferred

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
Certified Music Therapist (CMT), Registered Music Therapist (RMT) or Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Accomplished in voice and play a musical instrument (piano/guitar); skilled in improving, arranging and conducting; flexible with a wide range of musical activities preferred
Knowledge with various mental health and medical conditions preferred
