The Sock Monkey Museum is looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, and dependable team member who is organized, detail-oriented and comfortable working independently. The right person should also enjoy working with people and be willing to jump in wherever help is needed.
Experience with online retail, inventory, photography, social media or point-of-sale systems is helpful, but we are happy to train the right person.
This position will begin as part-time, with the possibility of growing into close to full-time hours depending on availability and the needs of the museum. This position offers flexible hours with a varying schedule, including weekdays and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Carefully packing and preparing customer orders for shipment
- Keeping online and in-store inventory organized and up to date
- Monitoring inventory and helping identify items that need to be reordered
- Carefully packing and preparing customer orders for shipment
- Keeping merchandise displays and stock areas organized
- Photographing merchandise and helping add new products to our online shop
- Greeting museum guests and providing friendly customer service
- Operating the register and assisting customers in the gift shop
- Helping with other museum duties and special projects as needed
- Friendly, outgoing, and professional with excellent customer service skills.
- Energetic and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable, responsible, and a team player.
- Retail or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
Qualifications- College degree preferred
- Previous retail experience is a plus
- Competent computer skills
- Interpersonal and communication skills preferred
