GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Join the Wyoming Game and Fish Department as a Multi-Media and Marketing Supervisor and play a vital role in supporting the mission of Conserving Wildlife and Serving People. In this role, you will apply your multi-media, marketing, and website management expertise and leadership to manage and deliver exceptional multi-media products and marketing plans to support the agencys mission. This is a unique opportunity to shape meaningful public-facing products to get the message out about what this agency does for wildlife and contribute to work that makes a lasting impact on Wyoming's natural resources and communities.

This position supervises and provides leadership for a team that handles multimedia programming, marketing, management of the agency website, and product sales through the headquarters gift shop. Key efforts include strategic planning and implementation of social media, graphic design, video production, audio content, website management, and product sales. This team works to find ways to help current and future hunters, anglers, and wildlife enthusiasts learn through audio, video, and digital media. Management of contracts for advertising of key department campaigns is also required. Supervision of employees on the team is also necessary, including performance appraisals and mentorship.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed in the job level.

  • Develops, implements, coordinates, conducts, directs, and evaluates specific information, marketing, and customer service efforts.
  • Serves on the communication and education division's management team to establish department-wide priorities and to develop messages, strategies, and individual work plans to address those priorities.
  • Develops and administers program budget(s).
  • Represents the Communications and Education division on various committees.
  • Ensures that department campaigns and marketing efforts effectively communicate department messages and objectives.
  • Manages and designs the Agency website.
  • Manages the product sales in the Agency's gift shop, including inventory management and supervising the accounting practices.
  • Supervises, trains, evaluates, and motivates employees, some of whom may be in remote locations.

Qualifications

PREFERENCES:

Preference will be given to those who have experience in marketing, multi-media design, and website management.

Preference will be given to those with supervisory experience.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of wildlife management, department programs, statutory responsibilities, agency policies and personnel rules.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelors Degree (typically in Multi-media Design)

Experience:

1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Multi-Media Design) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Senior Multi-Media Design Specialist

OR

Education & Experience Substitution:

4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in Multi-Media Design) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Senior Multi-Media Design Specialist

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This position is mainly in an office setting.
