The Multi-Skilled Technician (MST) will perform a variety of administrative tasks and patient care tasks for patients under the direction of nursing staff. The MST will support patient care functions in the unit as assigned.
Greet all patients and their accompanying family members when applicable and provide exemplary core customer service skills of excellence, compassion, healing, teamwork, stewardship, innovation, and integrity.
Administering treatment and personal care procedures for patients that includes tasks such as meal tray preparation and feeding, recording intake and output, bathing, shaving, changing clothing, cleaning and trimming fingernails, bed-making, assisting with ambulation, enemas, skin care, and bowel and bladder elimination; provide such additional care as required to meet the personal needs and comfort of assigned patients.
Prepare patients, equipment and supplies for specific procedures and provide manual assistance as required and may escort or transport patients to various hospital locations.
Responsible for administrative duties, which include but are not limited to; receiving, greeting, and directing patients, visitors and hospital personnel, provide/resolve requests from patients and guest and referring to nursing staff and other individuals as needed.
Other responsibilities include efficiently channeling communication in the unit and answering phones promptly and referring requests to appropriate nursing staff.
Additional duties may include cleaning the assigned area and stocking and replenishing supplies and equipment as required.
Work effectively and collaboratively with co-workers, nursing colleagues, physicians, and department heads.
Effectively utilize strong organizational/time management skills.
Consistently display effective verbal communication skills.
Proficient understanding and use of technology/PC skills required.
