JOB TITLE: Multi-Skilled Machine Operator This position will train on 1st shift M-Th, 6AM-4:30PM
SUMMARY: The Multi-Skilled machine operator will operate multi-head embroidery machines to embroider names, initials, or decorative designs on garments, material, or uniform accessories; operate a sewing machine to merrow patches; operate an automatic 2X2 machine to sew the outside perimeter of a patch, sewing, cutting, finishing, and packaging duties as directed. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to draw thread through guides, tensions, and needles and adjust tensions, threads, and bobbins according to fabric type. Ability to hoop and center material to prepare for processing on embroidery, merrow and 2x2 machines. Ability to center material to prepare for processing on embroidery, merrow and 2X2 machines. Ability to observe embroidery, merrow and 2X2 machine operations to detect defects in stitching that indicate machine malfunction and notify supervisor of malfunction. Ability to inspect garments for defects or damage, repair defects and/or fill in blanks left by machines. Must be dependable and self-motivated with a positive attitude. Ability to work independently with little supervision and communicate well with manager, supervisor and team leaders. Ability to maintain speed and efficiency and be fully committed to excellent customer service. Ability to maintain department production demand numbers. Ability to accurately count and follow written and verbal directions. Pay attention to the quality of both the starting product and the finished product. Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and have discernment for colors and detail. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
