    Description

    Salary                          $22.00 - $26.00/hr

    Employment                Full Time, Monday through Friday

    Responsible for performing repair and upkeep, preventative maintenance and tracking of facilities improvement for Rochester Rehabilitation Center sites.  

    Essential Functions

    Imparts agency philosophy of “Equal Opportunity, Independence and Realization of Individual Potential” to children, families, program staff and community resources.

    Maintains confidentiality of information relating to individuals and their families in accordance with agency policy.

    Creates and maintains a work order system for the administration of maintenance requests for primary location as well as satellite locations.

    Performs repairs and enhancements in the areas of electrical, carpentry, plumbing and mechanical systems.

    Understands operation of HVAC residential systems and all associated equipment, troubleshoots problems and makes repairs to systems.

    Proficient in 110-volt AC repairs and installation, loads and breaker capacities, troubleshoots lighting and power problems.

    Works with suppliers and contractors to ensure best service and pricing.

    Support operations with driving, deliveries and pick-ups as needed (non-CDL).

    Responsible for mechanical aspects of new and existing production activities as needed.

    Member of the Agency Safety Committee and awareness of OSHA regulations in the facilities.

    Makes repairs to floor surfaces, ceramic tile and ceiling installations.

    Conducts preventative maintenance inspections, makes recommendations for inspection improvements, including techniques, scheduling and tracking.

    Trouble shoots security, fire and telephone system as needed.

    Communicates, schedules and provides follow-up on all maintenance requests.

    Works with Directors to ensure that maintenance program budgets are adhered to.

    Works cooperatively and maintains positive working relationships with all staff, the individuals we serve and contractors. 

    Ensures contract work is completed as specified.

    Purchases maintenance materials for program.

    Maintains vehicles and ensures registration, inspections and upkeep/repairs are completed.

    Assists with snow removal/salting as needed.

    Completes all documentation requirements in a timely manner.

    Participate in conferences, workshops, department meetings and in-service trainings as needed or recommended to enhance job skills and personal growth and development.

    Adheres to agency’s policies and procedures as well as department guidelines.

    Work Environment

Must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 70 pounds.  Ability to withstand variable temperature change.

    Travel

    Travel is primarily local during the business day but employee will be expected to work at any of our partner agencies.  Some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

    Required Education and Experience

    High School Diploma or equivalent required.

    Trade apprenticeship or Associate’s Degree in a technical field preferred.

    1-2 years’ experience in related field. Additional experience may substitute for formal education.

    Ability to complete required documentation.

    Additional Eligibility Qualifications

    Ability to follow directions.

    Willingness to learn.

    Basic computer skills required.

    Valid NYS Driver’s License required.

    Forklift and Sky-Lift operation a plus.
