    The Challenge

Bring complex 5‑axis setups to life — quickly, safely, and to print — while finding smarter ways to remove time from the cycle.

    What You’ll Tackle

    • Set up and operate 5‑axis CNC equipment to produce/repair fluid film bearings, seals, and aerospace/defense components.
    • Translate route sheets, blueprints, sketches, and verbal guidance into efficient setups (including right‑angle head work).
    • Use geometric and mathematical reasoning to plan, verify, and adjust machining strategies.
    • Hold tight tolerances using micrometers, calipers, surface gauges, and dial indicators.
    • Edit and optimize G‑code at the machine; document all changes in the control.
    • Escalate risks to quality, delivery, or customer requirements and help drive corrective actions.
    • Recommend tooling, fixture, and procedural improvements to reduce run time and improve repeatability.
    • Confidently interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
    • Safely rig, load, and unload heavy parts with overhead cranes.

    • 5‑axis setup/operation proficiency; journeyman‑level capability desired.
    • Trade/technical schooling or 5+ years related experience (or equivalent blend).
    • Comfort with company, customer, and governmental specs/regulations.
    • Hands‑on with DMG MORI, Okuma, Hyundai, Fanuc (and similar) platforms.
    • Strong communicator with the ability to present to managers and collaborate cross‑functionally.
    • Applied math skills across proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume; algebra and geometry.
    • Working knowledge of manufacturing/repair for fluid film bearings.
    • Familiar with machining processes: cutting fluids, surface finishes, tolerances, turning, drilling, milling, and abrasive processes.
    • General knowledge of steels, nonferrous metals, and alloys; aerospace background is a plus.

    Bonus Skills

    • Problem‑solving mindset with a continuous improvement focus.
    • CAD/CAM programming experience.
