MT /MLT- Winnebago, NE

Location                            : Winnebago, NE 68071

Project Duration           : 16 weeks

Pay range                         : $40 – $43 per hour

Shift                                    : 7 PM to 730 AM. 7 on 7 off

Job Summary 

 Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities:

· Demonstrate the Winnebago Tribe’s core mission, vision, and
values

· Under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Manager, the MT/MLT
provides technical support by performing analyses, tests, and procedures that
assist in the prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of diseases.

· Accessioning/ ordering tests in the Laboratory Information Systems
(LIS) and processing specimens with referral to the reference laboratories.

· Operates, maintains, and calibrates the equipment used to ensure it is
operating efficiently and providing accurate results

· Performs basic
troubleshooting as needed

· Maintain documentation according to regulatory agencies and write
laboratory policies and procedures.

· Exposure to infectious clinical specimens on a regular basis, so
adherence to sterilization and infection control procedures is required.

· This position is responsible for using his/her skill, accuracy,
proficiency and dedication to work in all laboratory sections performing
analytical testing on patients specimens.

· Candidate must demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Candidate must be comfortable with routine phlebotomy.

Qualifications/Skills:

· Medical Laboratory
Technician – Must have graduated from an approved school of Medical
Technology/Laboratory Science with an Associate’s degree and be
certified/registered by one of the following agencies: MLT(ASCP), MLT(AMT),
CLT(NCA).

· Medical Technologist –
Must have graduated from an approved school of Medical Technology/Laboratory
Science with a bachelor’s degree and be certified/registered by one of the
following agencies: MT(ASCP), MT(AMT), CLS(NCA).

· Minimum of one year of experience preferred.

· Knowledge of hospital laboratory practices, including infection control
requirements, chemical and biological hazards.

· Knowledge of governmental and regulating policies and standards.
