This position is ideal for someone who has a strong understanding of the game, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes. The assistant coach will work closely with the head coach to develop players' skills, promote teamwork, and uphold the values of sportsmanship and integrity.Responsibilities- Assist the head coach in planning and implementing practice sessions and game strategies.- Provide instruction and support to student-athletes in skill development and game tactics.- Monitor and evaluate player performance during practices and games, offering constructive feedback.- Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, discipline, and respect.- Collaborate with coaching staff to develop game plans and coordinate player positions.- Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes during practices and competitions.- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations.- Assist in organizing team events, including practices, games, and team meetings.- Uphold and enforce school and district policies regarding athletics and student conduct.- Attend coaching clinics and workshops to enhance coaching skills and knowledge of the game.Requirements- Previous experience in coaching football at the high school level or equivalent experience in a competitive environment.- Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, strategies, and rules.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of students, coaches, and parents.- Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team environment.- Current CPR and First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain certification prior to the start of the season.- Must pass a background check and comply with all district policies and regulations.- Availability to work evenings and weekends, as required by the football season schedule.- A passion for developing young athletes both on and off the field.
