This role is for a Mechanical Engineer who want to design industrial transmission equipment and be part of the repair and maintenance team.
Implement customer requirements for the repair, modification, and upgrade of industrial power transmission equipment.
Evaluate the condition of customer equipment and determine which components can be reused, repaired, or require replacement.
Perform failure analysis and develop comprehensive technical reports documenting findings, root causes, and recommended corrective actions.
Define the engineering scope of work required to return equipment to full operating condition.
Perform dimensional measurements and reverse engineering of non-OEM components and assemblies.
Perform engineering calculations supporting the manufacture of new gears and repair of existing gears.
Design, specify, and develop detailed 3D models and engineering drawings for mechanical components and assemblies.
Develop job travelers outlining required operations, repair procedures, and manufacturing instructions for gears, components, and complete equipment.
Provide hands-on technical support on the shop floor during machining, assembly, inspection, and repair operations.
Diagnose technical issues, guide repair activities, and implement corrective actions to ensure successful project execution.
Provide technical support to suppliers, customers, field service personnel, and customer service teams.
Collaborate with manufacturing and operations teams to ensure repairs and modifications meet customer requirements, engineering standards, and quality expectations.
Serve as a technical resource for troubleshooting complex mechanical and manufacturing problems.
Support customer requirements and project execution from initial equipment evaluation through final repair and delivery.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
2+ years of experience in design or manufacturing engineering; 4+ years preferred.
Experience with mechanical power transmission systems, industrial gear drives, or rotating equipment strongly preferred.
Hands-on experience with gearbox repair, manufacturing, inspection, or overhaul preferred.
Knowledge of fluid film and rolling element bearings, gear design, and vibration analysis highly desirable.
Proficiency with SolidWorks 3D modeling and mechanical design software.
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, and technical documentation.
Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft 365/Office Suite
