Job Summary and Qualifications

  • Obtain quality MRI images of patients.
  • Complies with radiation safety guidelines.
  • Operates MRI equipment safety including screening all patients for contraindications.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform all necessary computer operations.
  • Render patient care in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Observant of patients conditions.
  • Prepare MRI scanner and perform quality control tests.
  • Administers contrast media as required.
  • Reviews each exam for technical accuracy and identifies anatomical orientation on all images.
  • Completes and maintains educational requirements.
  • Prepares patients, collects relevant information for completion of procedures.
  • Understands and operates electronic information systems.
  • Participates in Department QA as requested.
  • Keeps department neat, orderly and well stocked.
  • Ensures patient safety, to include cleaning the bore of the magnet as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Vocational School Graduate (ARRT-MR) Magnetic Resonance Imaging, or (ARRT-R) Radiography, or (ARMRIT) American Registry of MRI Technologists must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
