    RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) Image Quality Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) Image Quality Technologist, you will be responsible for the operation of assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, this role provides MRI services within professional standards and with excellent customer service and provides leadership and technical support to IT/technical services. This is a full-time position, working various shifts, 40 hours per week.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    (70%) Patient MRI Imaging

    • Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure
    • Explains and prepares patients for MRI procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned
    • Performs routine and advanced MRI procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeated scans, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedures
    • Adjusts MRI scan parameters correctly and as needed
    • Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
    • Maintains an orderly and clean work area, including sanitized equipment, promoting good safety habits for patients and team members
    • Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use
    • Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements

    (15%) Image Quality Support

    • Maintains protocols on shared drive, loads into scanner and ensures protocols are current and accurate
    • Assists Chief/Lead Technologists in implementing new MRI techniques as they become available; researches coils and/or software upgrades
    • Partners with Field Service Engineer(s) to troubleshoot decreased image quality
    • Participates in peer quality assurance process and effectively communicates individual MRI errors to the Chief/Lead Technologist
    • Collaborates with the Radiologist(s) to maximize scanners imaging capability
    • Effectively communicates protocol changes to team members, Chief/Lead Technologists, Radiologists and Operations Managers/Directors

    (10%) MRI Department Support

    • Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
    • Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
    • Assists in the training of new team members, providing resources and technical expertise, as applicable
    • Supervises the department in the absence of the Chief/Lead Technologist; coordinates schedules to ensure appropriate coverage

    (5%) Other Duties & Projects as Assigned
