Job Overview

The Manufacturing Quality Technician is responsible for supporting the quality and compliance of existing cable and assembly products and manufacturing processes. This role assists with customer complaint investigations, nonconformance reviews, corrective action activities, quality system documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Customer Service, the technician helps maintain product quality, reduce defects, and support a positive customer experience.

This position supports Sustaining Quality within the Cable team as part of the Assemblies value stream and reports to the Assemblies Quality Manager.

Job Requirements

  • Support investigations of customer complaints by gathering data, documenting findings, and assisting with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Manage site-level Customer Complaint and RMA processes, ensuring timely investigation, documentation, closure, and trend analysis to support process performance and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and issue Certificates of Compliance (CoCs), ensuring supporting documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with customer and quality requirements.
  • Create Nonconforming Material Reports (NCRs), perform basic assessments, and support material disposition activities while ensuring quality system requirements are followed.
  • Support validation activities by assisting with protocol execution, data collection, test measurements, and documentation.
  • Monitor and compile quality metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for reporting and trend analysis.
  • Support continuous improvement projects focused on reducing defects, improving process consistency, and enhancing quality system effectiveness.
  • Understand and comply with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assemblies Quality Manager.

What your background should look like

  • Associate degree in Engineering or a related field preferred. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a quality, manufacturing, inspection, or technician role within a regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience in reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of inspection tools, measurement equipment, and quality data collection techniques.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and quality management systems (QMS); SAP experience is a plus.

COMPENSATION

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $xxx - xxx (subject to change dependent on physical location)
