Shape the future of transportation in the Greensboro Urban Area.

The City of Greensboro serves as the lead planning agency for the Greensboro Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and works with regional partners to advance a safe, connected, equitable, and effective transportation system.

The Greensboro Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) seeks to hire a Transportation Planner to help move regional transportation priorities from planning and programming toward implementation. The position will support locally administered transportation projects, Transportation Improvement Program activities, consultant and contract coordination, project tracking, MPO committee work, and communication with City departments, MPO member agencies, NCDOT, FHWA, consultants, stakeholders, and other project partners. The position will help coordinate MPO committee processes that support transportation decision-making, including work related to the Transportation Advisory Committee, Technical Coordinating Committee, MPO subcommittees, and related activities. Responsibilities include preparing, tracking, and presenting agenda items, amendments, agreements, resolutions, public notices, committee materials, and related documentation.

Additional responsibilities include consultant procurement and contract coordination, including RFQs, RFPs, task orders, scopes of work, agreements, procurement schedules, contract documentation, invoice and reimbursement coordination, and related implementation support. The position will also use workflow management systems, project tracking tools, document management systems, databases, spreadsheets, reporting tools, and other digital platforms to support MPO operations and transportation projects.
