This unique position will build upon Sentara's well-established Comprehensive Movement Disorders Program, which currently includes an experienced Movement Disorders Neurologist, two highly experienced Movement Disorders Physician Assistants, and a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the care of patients with Parkinson's disease, essential tremor, dystonia, Huntington's disease, and other movement disorders. The Division of Neurology within SMG is the largest neurology practice in the area and includes a team of dedicated neurohospitalists as well as fellowship-trained sub-specialists in Stroke, Epilepsy, Movement Disorders, Neuromuscular, Cognitive Neurology, and Multiple Sclerosis.

Join Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) and Sentara Health in making a significant impact in the field of neurology at the Lawrence J. Goldrich Institute for Integrated Neuro-Health. This full-time, outpatient-only position within the Sentara Medical Group (SMG) Division of Neurology is for a Fellowship-Trained Movement Disorders Neurologist. Candidates will obtain an EVMS faculty appointment in the Department of Neurology, providing opportunities for academic growth, resident education, and research.

This unique position will build upon Sentara's well-established Comprehensive Movement Disorders Program, which currently includes an experienced Movement Disorders Neurologist, two highly experienced Movement Disorders Physician Assistants, and a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the care of patients with Parkinson's disease, essential tremor, dystonia, Huntington's disease, and other movement disorders.

The program works closely with an established Functional Neurosurgery program offering Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and MR-guided Focused Ultrasound (MRgFUS), providing patients with state-of-the-art medical and surgical treatment options. Candidates will benefit from a strong referral base, comprehensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy support, and an established pipeline of patients throughout the region.

This exciting joint opportunity offers the best of both worlds by combining a private practice model with academic opportunity. The successful candidate will be employed by SMG and receive SMG physician compensation and benefits while also holding an EVMS faculty appointment with rank commensurate with experience. Additional opportunities exist for teaching within the EVMS Neurology Residency Program, which currently includes four residents per year, as well as participation in clinical research and program development.

• Outpatient-only with no night or weekend call.
• Supports the existing SMG program that includes comprehensive clinics for Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease patients, as well as a busy Botox clinic for dystonia.
• Partnered with functional Neurosurgery, there is an active Deep Brain Stimulation and Focus Ultrasound program.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $301,704.00 - $383,240.00 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted, it is based on a full-time colleague working 2,080 hours annually.
