Job Summary and Qualifications

  • ​Under the supervision of the Hospital ACFO, you will  be responsible for ensuring that generally accepted accounting principles and procedures are followed in the recording of financial transactions and maintenance of the hospital’s general accounting and statistical reporting systems
  • You will be responsible for the timely completion of financial, operational, and state/federal reporting and deadlines, and must be able to foster a constructive learning environment for the team to grow and develop
  • You will ensure accuracy of the balance sheet and timely completion of month-end financial statement reviews, account reconciliations, monthly Balance Sheet Review Guide and Financial Attestation, and Facility SOX & Internal Control Attestations
  • You will ensure the hospital’s semi-annual internal controls are sound and all Sarbanes Oxley 404 and internal controls documentation is completed
  • You will prepare/ review various ad hoc reporting and reporting for the Facility Monthly Operating Review and facilitate completion of annual requirements such as facility budgets, cost report workpapers, tax workpaper packages, etc.
  • You will select, train, and evaluate performance of Accounting personnel to ensure quality of service and technical expertise, and create and foster an environment that encourages open communication within the department and between the department and hospital management

What qualifications you will need:
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration (Accounting) required
  • ​​Master's degree​ ​in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance​ preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in Accounting required; 4+ years preferred
  • 2 years’ experience supervising accountants preferably in a healthcare setting preferred
