Duties Description Duties include but are not limited to:
Minimum Qualifications To be eligible for the Motor Vehicle Representative 1, G-9position you must meet one of the following conditions as detailed below:
NY HELPS*:
Graduated from high school or have earned a high school equivalency diploma AND you must have either:
1: one year of experience in a position where your primary responsibility was providing customer service to the general public* either in an environment with substantial face-to-face interaction or in a call center environment
OR
2: 30 college semester credit hours
At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), itis expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, WITHOUT HAVING TO TAKE A CIVIL SERVICE TEST. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.
Civil Service defines customer service as dealing with many different individuals on a continuous basis where verbal communication is the primary means of accomplishing the duties of the position.
Additional Comments Hours of the position will be discussed at the time of interview, including questions regarding Flextime, AWS/Compressed workweek and Telecommuting.
