Overview:

ASE Seeks a Motor Vehicle Dispatcher to support the PFPA LSS program.  The Motor Vehicle Dispatcher serves as a liaison between the Motor Vehicle Operators and PFPA FALD Fleet Management office (s) to monitor incidents related to PFPA motor vehicle operations, e.g., accidents, breakdowns, etc.; informs appropriate supervisory staff of known or possible issues and provides follow-up communications.  To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!

Responsibilities:
  • A motor vehicle dispatcher is responsible for scheduling and dispatching various vehicles such as passenger, cargo, and bus.
  • They monitor alarm systems to detect illegal entry and ensure the serviceability of communication equipment.
  • They calculate penalty fees and maintain complete vehicle logs using fleet management information systems.
  • Motor vehicle dispatchers also maintain records of mileage, fuel usage, and costs.
  • They process documents, enter police-related data, and manage operator vehicle inspections.
  • Additionally, they assist vehicle operators during breakdowns and resolve customer complaints.
  • They type commands on computer keyboards to update files and maintain logs.
  • The assignment of vehicles is determined by factors such as length and purpose of trip, freight or passenger requirements, and preference of user.
  • Additional responsibilities include the issuance of keys, record sheets, and driver credentials.
  • The Dispatcher records time of departure, destination, cargo, expected time of return and investigates overdue vehicles.
  • The Dispatcher may confer with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed or damaged merchandise, maintain record of mileage, fuel used, repairs made, and other expenses.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience as a dispatcher.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Knowledge of dispatch codes and phonetic alphabet.
  • Able to work for extended hours under stressful conditions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Secret or higher clearance is required.
