Motion Systems Engineer

Job Description:

• Looking for someone with strong mechanical, electrical, or mechatronics design capabilities and hands-on experience designing and developing multi-axis precision motion systems.

• Design and develop X/Y/Z linear axes and Theta rotational axes
• Design precision positioning systems, stages, gantries, and automated equipment
• Design and select servo motors, direct drives, magnetic drives, linear motors, actuators, and encoders
• Develop mechanical and/or electrical designs from concept through prototype and production
• Create and modify 3D CAD models, assemblies, engineering drawings, and schematics
• Perform design calculations, component selection, tolerance analysis, and system-level engineering
• Integrate motion systems with PLCs, motion controllers, robotics, and automation systems
• Troubleshoot and optimize mechanical, electrical, and motion-control systems
• Support prototype development, testing, commissioning, and production integration
• Develop advanced motion solutions for laser processing and automation equipment

• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience
• Strong engineering design and product development experience
• Experience designing multi-axis motion systems
• Strong understanding of X/Y/Z + Theta/rotary-axis motion
• Experience with servo systems, drives, actuators, encoders, and motion controllers
• Experience with direct-drive, magnetic-drive, or linear-motor technology is highly desirable
• Strong CAD and design skills
• Ability to take a system from concept → design → prototype → testing → production
• Hands-on experience developing and testing equipment
