Description

Team Red Dog is hiring a Motion Designer for our client, a global productivity and collaboration leader and design-forward technology client. This fully remote role will create, edit, and refine high-quality motion graphics, video content, animations, and visual assets supporting customer-facing, marketing, social media, and product experiences. The Motion Designer will bring product stories and customer education to life through strong visual storytelling, polished motion design, and expert video editing using tools such as Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Figma. This is an opportunity to contribute creative work that helps customers better understand and engage with Microsoft 365 and Copilot experiences.

 

Top Required Skills (Must Haves):

  1. Motion Design & Video Production – 2–4 years of professional experience creating motion graphics, video edits, animations, visual treatments, and digital production assets for marketing, social, customer-facing, or product-related content.
  2. Adobe After Effects & Premiere Pro – Advanced proficiency creating, editing, animating, and polishing video and motion assets, including transitions, typography, pacing, visual effects, sound synchronization, and final production.
  3. Visual Storytelling & Design – Strong understanding of motion principles, typography, composition, visual hierarchy, pacing, brand consistency, and the ability to translate product narratives and raw creative files into polished customer experiences.

Opportunity Overview:

Join a creative production team focused on creating engaging video and motion experiences that educate customers and bring Microsoft 365 and Copilot capabilities to life. This role combines hands-on motion design and video editing with cross-functional collaboration, giving you the opportunity to work with product, design, marketing, and business partners on customer-facing content. Success requires both creative excellence and strong production discipline, with an emphasis on delivering polished assets accurately, efficiently, and on schedule across multiple formats and platforms.

How you will make an impact:

  • Create high-quality motion graphics, video edits, animations, and visual treatments for customer-facing, marketing, social media, and product-related experiences.
  • Translate original files, product narratives, UI designs, prototypes, and product captures into compelling video and motion design assets.
  • Develop polished visual executions that support storytelling, product education, customer understanding, and engagement.
  • Edit raw footage, screen captures, product demos, animations, and visual assets into cohesive finished videos.
  • Apply transitions, typography, motion effects, sound synchronization, color adjustments, pacing, and visual polish to meet quality standards.
  • Prepare video assets for multiple formats, channels, aspect ratios, presentations, campaigns, and social platforms.
  • Use and update product assets, UI designs, and prototypes to ensure video captures and motion sequences accurately reflect the intended product experience.
  • Apply brand guidelines and strong visual design judgment across composition, timing, typography, hierarchy, pacing, and storytelling.
  • Identify opportunities to improve clarity, visual appeal, customer relevance, and overall effectiveness through motion and editing choices.
  • Manage production details including file naming conventions, asset organization, version control, timelines, milestones, deliverable schedules, and delivery tracking.
  • Track feedback, revisions, approvals, and final outputs to keep projects organized and moving forward.
  • Proactively communicate project status, risks, blockers, dependencies, timeline changes, and delivery considerations to stakeholders.
  • Partner with design, product, marketing, and business stakeholders to understand objectives and translate feedback into effective creative execution.
  • Prepare design options, revised cuts, and final motion and video assets for stakeholder review and approval.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and shifting priorities while maintaining quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Contribute creative recommendations that improve storytelling, customer understanding, and content engagement.

The expertise you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Motion Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Film/Video Production, Digital Media, Studio Art, Fine Art, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of professional motion design, video editing, or digital production experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects and/or Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Experience using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 products including Copilot, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Clipchamp.
  • Working proficiency in Figma, including navigating design files, updating product content, preparing assets, and collaborating with product designers.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating motion graphics, video editing, visual storytelling, and polished production execution.
  • Experience creating video and motion assets for marketing, customer-facing, social media, digital, or product-related content.
  • Strong understanding of motion principles, typography, pacing, composition, visual hierarchy, and brand consistency.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage file organization, naming conventions, version tracking, production timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving production environment with evolving priorities and tight turnaround times.

A highly successful candidate combines strong creative instincts with hands-on motion design and video production expertise. They can take raw files, product experiences, UI designs, and creative direction and independently turn them into polished, engaging content that is visually compelling and easy for customers to understand. They demonstrate advanced command of After Effects and/or Premiere Pro while bringing a strong eye for typography, pacing, composition, sound, visual hierarchy, and brand consistency. Strong candidates are also highly organized producers who proactively manage versions, files, feedback, milestones, deadlines, and stakeholder communication without sacrificing creative quality. Experience creating content for technology, productivity, SaaS, or enterprise customers, as well as familiarity with video accessibility considerations such as captions, readable text, contrast, and clear visual communication, will further support success in the role.
