Our client, a financial services company, is seeking a Mortgage Servicing, Vice President to join their team in Tustin, CA!
The ideal candidate will lead the organization's mortgage loan servicing operations, ensuring accurate, timely, compliant, and efficient servicing of the loan portfolio. This executive will oversee the servicing team, regulatory and investor requirements, operational controls, process improvements, and complex servicing escalations.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead daily mortgage servicing operations, including payment processing, reconciliations, escrow administration, loan boarding, collateral perfection, and ongoing servicing.
  • Lead, coach, and develop servicing staff; establish performance goals and monitor departmental service levels.
  • Ensure conventional loans are boarded accurately and within required timeframes.
  • Oversee post-closing activities, including tickler reports and outstanding documentation.
  • Oversee RLOC draws, collateral releases, and applicable UCC releases.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, internal policies, investor requirements, and banking guidelines.
  • Oversee accurate and timely positive and negative reporting to applicable government agencies.
  • Ensure required reporting is completed accurately and on time for Bank Partners, FHLB, SBA, state agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for complex borrower complaints, servicing issues, portfolio discrepancies, and system-related problems.
  • Support customer retention through effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Oversee documentation required for internal and external audits.
  • Support preparation of loan packages for investor and bank loan purchases.
  • Identify and implement improvements to servicing procedures, workflows, controls, tracking, and technology.
  • Partner with Accounting, Treasury, Credit, Portfolio Management, Collections, Special Assets, and Origination to resolve discrepancies and improve servicing operations.
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in managing the department and resolving complex issues.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5–7 years of financial services experience, preferably in mortgage servicing, loan servicing, lending operations, or banking.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field OR 7 years of equivalent professional experience.
  • Previous experience leading, supervising, coaching, and developing a servicing team.
  • Strong knowledge of loan/mortgage servicing operations, banking regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.
  • Experience with loan boarding, post-closing, reconciliations, reporting, and portfolio servicing.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Strong database and computer systems skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and changing business requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with the Northridge Loan Servicing System.
  • Mortgage servicing or commercial loan servicing experience.
  • Experience with FHLB, SBA, bank partners, investors, or government reporting agencies.
  • Experience with UCC filings, collateral releases, loan purchases, or investor reporting.
  • Experience supporting internal and external audits.
Salary: $110,000 - $135,000
