Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing mortgage lending team, for an entry-level Mortgage Loan Processor to join their remote operations group. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their finance or mortgage career to learn the loan lifecycle from application to closing while working alongside experienced underwriters, loan officers, and closers.

Day to day, you will review loan files for accuracy, order and track documentation, and keep borrowers and loan officers updated on status. The role suits someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable juggling multiple files at once, and energized by hitting deadlines in a fast-paced, process-driven environment. No prior mortgage experience is required, just a strong work ethic and willingness to learn the ropes.

Responsibilities

  • Review mortgage loan applications for completeness and accuracy
  • Collect and verify borrower income, asset, and credit documentation
  • Order appraisals, title work, and verifications of employment
  • Input and update loan data in the loan origination system
  • Communicate with borrowers, loan officers, and underwriters on file status
  • Track loan files through each stage of the process to meet closing deadlines
  • Ensure files comply with investor, federal, and state guidelines
  • Prepare files for underwriting submission and clear conditions
  • Coordinate with title companies and closing agents on scheduling
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready loan file documentation

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, associate or bachelor degree preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple loan files simultaneously under deadlines
  • Basic understanding of financial documents such as pay stubs, tax returns, and bank statements
  • Comfortable working with loan origination software and Microsoft Office
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Prior customer service or administrative experience a plus
  • Knowledge of mortgage terminology a plus but not required

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401k with company match
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Remote-friendly setup with equipment provided
  • Flexible scheduling within core business hours
  • Paid training and mentorship from experienced processors
  • Career growth path toward senior processor or underwriting roles
  • Employee assistance program
  • Life and disability insurance options
  • Home office stipend
