ABOUT THE POSITION

Position Title: 

Position Overview: Visions Federal Credit Union is seeking a detail-oriented Mortgage Loan Processor to support the origination and servicing of first and second mortgage loans. In this role, you will help ensure mortgage files are accurate, complete, and prepared for the next step in the lending process while providing responsive support to members, attorneys, vendors, and internal partners.

Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week). Regular shifts include Monday to Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM. Occasional Saturdays as needed. 

Compensation Range: $20.00/hr. - $23.50/hr.Hiring rates may be dependent on a number of factors, including years of directly related work experience, education, geographic location or special skills*

Location: Position is on-site at our Corporate Headquarters in Endwell, NY.

What you’ll do in this role:

  • Support mortgage loan creation by reviewing closing documentation, updating reportable loan fields, funding newly originated loans, and creating escrow accounts.
  • Ensure mortgage discharges are processed accurately and in compliance with all regulatory requirements following receipt of final loan payment.

  • Manage mortgage escrow activity, including tax and insurance payments, payment research, issue resolution, shortfall review, and annual escrow analysis.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors to obtain insurance premium and tax amounts for escrow disbursements, while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and streamline the process.
  • Serve as a helpful point of contact for members, attorneys’ offices, vendors, and internal teams while researching and resolving mortgage-related questions.
  • Provide departmental backup support and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and service-focused team environment.

What success looks like:

  • Mortgage files are processed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with internal procedures and regulatory requirements final receipt of loan payment.
  • Members, attorneys, vendors, and internal partners receive timely, professional, and helpful support.
  • Escrow and servicing activities are completed with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • You adapt effectively to changing priorities while maintaining confidentiality, organization, and service excellence.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Minimum qualifications:

  • High school diploma and 1–3 years of member/customer service and computer experience required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard office equipment required.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage competing priorities, and maintain a high level of accuracy.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Associate degree preferred.
  • NMLS certification and Notary license preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
