Position SummaryThe Mortgage Loan Operations Specialist is responsible for managing residential mortgage loans throughout the operational lifecycle, including loan opening, disclosure preparation, closing coordination, post-closing review, investor delivery, and portfolio loan boarding.Essential Functions:Loan Opening ResponsivitiesEnsure accurate and timely loan data entryGenerate and deliver initial disclosuresOrder and track appraisals, title work, flood certifications, verifications and payoffs.Monitor files to ensure deadlines are metClosing ResponsibilitiesPrepare closing packages and investor documentsReview closing disclosures for accuracyCoordinate closing with settlement partiesVerify loan terms, title, insurance and feesPost-Closing and Secondary Market ResponsibilitiesReview signed closing packagesDeliver loans to investors and servicing partnersClear suspense conditions and funding requirementsEnsure accurate portfolio loan boardingAdditional FunctionsWork with Operations Manager at identifying any training deficiencies within the departmentWork with Operations Manager in creating and implementing any process changes that might be needed due to investor or servicer policiesAssist department with any other assigned dutiesMERS Officer for the Mortgage lending department Perform periodic reporting on work progress, project completions, and additional reporting as requested by mortgage Operations manager.Education and Experience5 years conventional mortgage experience required5 years closing/post-closing operations experience requiredAbility to analyze settlement packages and title reports is requiredDetailed knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC guidelines is requiredKnowledge of Automated Underwriting Systems LP/DU is recommendedExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are requiredMS Word Suite requiredKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of basic mortgage forms and documentsAbility to work in paperless and remote environmentEffective interpersonal relationship building skillsStrong computer skillsDetail oriented and accurate data entryStrong organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentProficient in database management and record keeping.ComplianceIt is the responsibility of each bank staff member and of management to adhere to policies and procedures designed to implement compliance with the laws and regulations to which the bank is subject.
