Morgue Technician

This applies to direct care staff (Examples: RN, LPN, Nurse Aides, Therapists) referred to Kentucky nursing facilities, assisted living communities, or long-term care facilities, in accordance with KRS 216.793. Pride Health is hiring Morgue Technician to support our client's healthcare team in Minneapolis, MN 55415. This is a 13-week contract with potential for extension.
 
Job Responsibilities:

• Receive and process deceased patients in the morgue.
• Inventory and document personal belongings of decedents.
• Coordinate autopsies, viewings, body releases, and disposition arrangements.
• Coordinate the storage and disposition of fetal remains and surgically removed limbs.
• Provide post-mortem care in a respectful and culturally appropriate manner.
• Communicate with hospital staff, families, funeral homes, law enforcement, medical examiners, and other outside agencies.
• Clean, decontaminate, and maintain morgue equipment and instruments.
• Maintain morgue supplies, including PPE, linens, consumables, and specialized chemicals.
• Prepare biohazardous waste and linen for pickup.
• Follow hospital death protocols and applicable regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and emotionally difficult situations professionally.
• Basic knowledge of Epic is preferred.
• Previous morgue, autopsy, mortuary, medical examiner, pathology, or decedent-care experience is preferred.

Additional Information:

• Location:Minneapolis, MN 55415
• Schedule: 40hour/week - 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Pay Range: $18 - $22/hour
