Infant & Toddler Assistant Teacher – Closing Position

Montessori Academy of Upland is seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic Infant & Toddler Assistant Teacher to join our team. This is a closing position, and applicants must be available to work during the afternoon through our 6:00 PM closing time.

Pay: $18.00–$23.00 per hour
School Hours: 6:30 AM–6:00 PM
Position: Full-Time Closing Position

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with infants and toddlers and understands the importance of providing a nurturing, safe, consistent, and engaging environment for young children.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units

• At least 3 of the 12 ECE units must be in Infant/Toddler Curriculum

• Previous experience working with infants and/or toddlers preferred

• Must be dependable, patient, nurturing, and able to work collaboratively with other teachers

• Must be available to work until 6:00 PM

• CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain

• Must meet all California childcare licensing requirements for employment

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting the lead teacher with the daily care and supervision of infants and toddlers

• Maintaining proper supervision and teacher-to-child ratios at all times

• Supporting feeding, diapering, toileting, napping, and other daily routines

• Engaging with children through age-appropriate activities, conversation, play, and classroom experiences

• Assisting in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment

• Preparing and cleaning classroom materials and activity areas

• Supporting the Montessori environment and encouraging independence appropriate to each child's developmental level

• Communicating professionally and respectfully with children, parents, and other staff members

• Assisting with afternoon transitions and closing responsibilities

• Helping ensure classrooms and shared areas are clean, organized, and prepared for the following school day

• Following all school policies and California Community Care Licensing regulations

Schedule

This position is specifically intended to help provide afternoon and closing coverage. Applicants must be available to work until 6:00 PM.

We are open to both part-time and full-time candidates, depending on availability and the needs of the school. Applicants seeking part-time employment should be available for a consistent afternoon schedule through closing.
