Description

Job Title: Telemetry Monitor Technician

Job Description

The role requires the interpretation of basic cardiac rhythms and common dysrhythmias, as well as monitoring mechanical malfunctions. In addition to these clinical duties, the technician will perform general clerical tasks on the nursing unit, facilitate communication, transcribe physician orders, expedite interdepartmental services, and maintain records.

Responsibilities

  • Perform observation of telemetry monitor, catching and posting ectopy, running strips, and measuring intervals.
  • Communicate changes in patient conditions and perform basic maintenance on equipment.
  • Keep the nurses" station neat and tidy, ensuring charts are clean and thinned.
  • Ensure the desk area is free of clutter and wastebaskets are emptied at the end of the shift.
  • Assist with the orientation of new ward clerks and monitor technicians.
  • Stock telemetry supplies and perform basic maintenance on the telemetry unit and station.
  • Keep paper documents current and ensure telemetry units for new patients are prepared correctly.
  • Perform Defibrillator and Crash cart checks and record the results per shift.

Essential Skills

  • Decontamination experience is a must.
  • Telemetry experience is required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) certification.
  • Successful completion of a Basic Arrhythmia course.
  • 1 year of telemetry experience is preferred.

Work Environment

The position requires working a shift from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, with rotating weekends. The environment is fast-paced, and the role requires attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Bernardino, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.67 - $26.67/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
