Job Summary:
Monitors patients on telemetry systems, observes cardiac rhythms, identifies arrhythmias, and promptly notifies nursing staff of any critical changes. Performs ECGs, maintains rhythm strip documentation, ensures proper alarm settings, and assists with troubleshooting monitoring equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Continuous cardiac monitoring of assigned patients.
Interpret and document heart rhythms.
Print and maintain daily rhythm strips.
Perform ECGs as needed.
Alert clinical staff to cardiac emergencies.
Troubleshoot telemetry equipment and maintain monitoring supplies.
Requirements:
Basic knowledge of arrhythmia interpretation and ECG procedures preferred.
Good computer, communication, and interpersonal skills.
No prior experience required.
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required upon hire.
