MoDOT Continuing Technical Education Instructor (Part-time)

Days, M-F, On-Site, November - May

$32.00 an hour

This course introduces the basic properties of construction materials. Students learn to test and inspect soil, aggregate, concrete, and asphalt in laboratory and fields situations. Tests are performed in accordance with industry standards including American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), and other standards. Laboratory record keeping and reporting are also introduced.

Requirements:

All CTE instructors shall be certified by the Missouri Department of Transportation in the applicable areas of construction materials testing and in other areas as applicable to subject. Exceptional qualifications in the following areas are highly desirable.

• Strong communications skills as evidenced by good command of the written English language, spelling and grammar
• Instructional experience
• Knowledge of the state-of-the-art occupational specialty taught by the department
