Modeling and Simulation Software Engineer
OASYS, INC., a Leading-Edge Government contractor in Huntsville Alabama, is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Software Engineer to support our Air Force customer.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Participate in the development, implementation, and refinement of 3-DoF and 6-DoF physics-based simulation models
- Participate in the modeling of vehicle trajectories, debris dispersion patterns, and dynamic system behavior
- Validate physics models against analytical results, test data, and performance requirements
- Perform end-to-end software lifecycle activities including requirements analysis, architecture, design, coding, integration, and test
- Produce technical documentation for models, algorithms, and software products
- Participate in model reviews, design reviews, and technical interchange meetings
- Support fielded simulation tools and assist with troubleshooting, updates, and enhancements
Minimum Requirements:
- 3-5 years with modeling and simulation software or physics based software experience
- Proficiency in C++, Python, Java or other object-oriented programming languages
- Practical experience with 3-DoF and 6-DoF modeling techniques
- Demonstrated experience modeling vehicle trajectories and debris patterns
- Knowledge of physics models
- Familiarity with Agile development practices, specifically Scrum
- Experience working on cross-discipline engineering teams
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, or other version control systems
- Background using simulation tools/frameworks (MATLAB, Simulink, STK, physics engines)
- Linux development experience (Red Hat, Ubuntu, etc.)
- Experience with visualization tools or simulation analysis pipelines
- Experience with real-time, hardware-in-the-loop, or mission-level simulation environments
- Certified ScrumMaster (optional)
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or another STEM discipline. Equivalent experience may be substituted for a degree.
Eligibility:
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance; an active Secret Clearance is highly desirable.
