Model Based Systems Engineer

Location: San Diego, California (Onsite at NAVWAR)

Clearance: Must hold an active TS/SCI to be considered

Role Overview

This position seeks an individual to combine technical skills with strategic thinking to impact national security. The role involves translating real-world needs into technical specifications to deliver customer-focused engineering solutions. As a systems engineer, you will have the opportunity to shape the customer mission by leading engineering efforts, designing and developing systems, and evolving them with advanced technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, integrate, and apply interdisciplinary digital models of products from concept through the product lifecycle.
• Apply advanced skills and technical expertise to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
• Work without considerable direction while mentoring and supervising team members.
• Develop or define architectures that integrate MBSE tools, simulation environments, data repositories, and lifecycle management systems.
• Perform systems engineering analysis and develop systems engineering products for government systems.
• Utilize practical MBSE for the development of technical specifications, interface control documents, and system architecture.
• Analyze and translate system requirements into design.
• Build models and views aligned to Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), and Test Readiness Review (TRR).
• Define and maintain the enterprise architecture for a digital engineering ecosystem.
• Communicate and establish collaborative relationships with clients and teammates to achieve program goals.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience developing or defining architectures that integrate MBSE tools, simulation environments, data repositories, and lifecycle management systems.
• 2+ years of experience performing systems engineering analysis and developing systems engineering products for government systems.
• 2+ years of experience with practical MBSE for the development of technical specifications and system architecture, using digital engineering tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, SparxEA, DOORS, or IBM Rhapsody.
• 2+ years of experience analyzing and translating system requirements into design.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Bachelors degree in a STEM field or 4+ years of experience with MBSE.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Model-Based Verification and Validation.
• Experience with Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA).
• Knowledge of Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF).
• Ability to work to meet deliverables using agile workflows.
• Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve technical risks and issues, develop technical reports, and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Master's degree in Engineering.
• OMG Certified Systems Model Professional (OCSMP) Certification.
• INCOSE SE Certification.
