    Job description:

    The Facilities Driver is responsible for the safe operation and transport of Health Services, Inc. (HSI) mobile units (size equivalent to a trailway bus), including the dental unit, to predesignated sites. This role ensures all mobile systems are operational and safe for patient care.

    Essential Functions

    Mobile Operations & Logistics

    • Primary Driver: Operates the dental mobile unit and other designated HSI vehicles safely to and from community sites, ensuring punctual arrival and departure.
    • System Oversight: Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections; ensures mobile units are fully operational (leveling, power/generator setup, water, and HVAC) before clinical staff begin service.
    • Vehicle Maintenance: Schedules and monitors routine maintenance for mobile units, including fueling, oil changes, and tire inspections to prevent service interruptions.
    • Inventory & Safety: Maintains a clean, organized vehicle environment and ensures all safety equipment (fire extinguishers, first aid kits) is present and compliant.

    Patient Registration & Administration

    • Patient Experience: Acts as the first point of contact for mobile unit visitors, providing excellent customer service and directing patient flow.

    Facilities Support

    • Emergency Response: Provides on and off-hour response for vehicle emergencies to stabilize equipment or site damage.
    • Site Preparation: Coordinates with community partners at mobile sites to ensure parking areas are clear and accessible.
    • Collaboration: Maintains a cohesive working relationship with clinical staff, the registration department, and the facilities team.

    EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

    · Licensure: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL not required). Must be able to be insured through Company insurance.

    · Technical Skill: Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical/electrical issues related to mobile vehicle operation.

    · Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with diverse patient populations and HSI staff.

    OSHA RATING: Medium

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Combination of sitting, standing, walking, pushing/pulling, lifting, bending, carrying objects, speaking/listening.

    Experience:

    Shuttle driving: 1 year (Preferred)

    License/Certification:
