    Mobile Trailer Mechanic - Louisville, KY


    If you'd rather be turning wrenches than sitting in a shop all day, this is worth a look.


    We're hiring a Mobile Trailer Mechanic based around Louisville, KY, covering customers within about an 80-mile radius. You'll be working out of a fully outfitted take-home service truck, handling mostly dry vans, flatbeds, and step decks. This is 90% trailer work with only the occasional Class 8 truck repair (mostly bolt-on work).


    You'll work independently, take care of your customers, and head home every night.


    What You'll Be Doing

    • On-site service and repairs on dry vans, flatbeds, and step decks
    • PM services and inspections
    • Brake, suspension, wheel end, lighting, air system, and electrical repairs
    • Welding and light fabrication
    • Occasional Class 8 truck repairs (about 10%)
    • Troubleshoot and repair equipment in the field

    What We're Looking For

    • At least 2 years of trailer or heavy truck mechanic experience
    • Able to diagnose and repair trailer systems without someone looking over your shoulder
    • Valid driver's license
    • CDL is a plus, but not required
    • Comfortable working outside in all seasons
    • Able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen

    Pay & Benefits

    • $30-$38/hour based on experience
    • Year-end bonus
    • Monday-Friday schedule, 6:00 AM-3:30 PM
    • Local territory - home every night
    • On-call rotation only once every 9-10 weeks
