Mobile Service Technician
Bring your skills to the road and keep our customers moving! As a Mobile Service Technician with Nextran Truck Centers, you’ll take your expertise directly to the customer, providing hands-on service and repairs where they are needed most. You’ll diagnose problems, perform preventative maintenance, complete repairs, and get medium- and heavy-duty trucks back on the road safely and efficiently.

Hourly Pay: $26–$40/hr., compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience, certifications, education, and demonstrated skills.
Hours of Work: MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY – DAY SHIFT
Mobile Technician must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays as required to support business and operational needs.
CDL & DOT MEDICAL CARD REQUIRED: This position requires a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), as appropriate for the mobile service vehicle, and a current DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (Medical Card). Candidates must also meet Nextran Corporation’s driver qualification and insurability requirements.

Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening, background investigation, physical abilities assessment, and motor vehicle record (MVR) check.
What You’ll Do
- Take your expertise on the road by traveling to customer locations and getting medium- and heavy-duty trucks back to work.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve problems using your technical knowledge and hands-on skills to identify the root cause and make the right repair.
- Keep trucks performing at their best by completing preventative maintenance, inspections, and recommended service.
- Tackle repairs from start to finish, including disassembly, repair, and reassembly of major truck components.
- Work closely with our Parts Department to quickly identify and obtain the parts needed to keep repairs moving.
- Build customer confidence through professional, knowledgeable, and courteous interactions at every service call.
- Keep the team informed by communicating repair updates, additional service needs, and potential delays with the Service Advisor/Dispatcher.
- Document your work with pride by providing accurate, detailed repair notes and recommendations.
- Look beyond the immediate repair by identifying safety concerns, additional service needs, and opportunities to help customers avoid future downtime.
- Support quality warranty repairs by properly saving and tagging parts when required.
- Help develop the next generation of technicians by providing guidance and direction to Apprentice Technicians when assigned.
- Take ownership of your tools and equipment by keeping company-owned tools, equipment, and technical manuals secure, organized, and in good condition.
- Work safely and responsibly by following all safety procedures and immediately reporting equipment or safety concerns.
- Stay ahead of the industry by keeping up with manufacturer technical bulletins, repair procedures, and evolving service requirements.
- Protect our customers, our team, and the environment by following all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA and hazardous waste requirements.
- Jump in where needed and take on other responsibilities that help our customers and team succeed.
What We’re Looking For
- Mack Master Technician certification and 4+ years of related experience and/or training preferred, but not required.
- Hands-on experience working on diesel engines and medium- and heavy-duty commercial trucks.
- Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality.
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid Class A or Class B CDL REQUIRED.
- Current DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (Medical Card) REQUIRED.
- Must maintain a satisfactory driving record and meet Nextran Corporation’s driver qualification and insurability requirements.
- Ability to use computer systems and electronic applications for recordkeeping, communication, scheduling, diagnostics, and other job-related functions.
- ASE and Cummins certifications are a plus.
