Job Title: Mobile Phlebotomist
Location: Las Vegas NV
Shift Time: Full-Time; 40hrs per week
Duration: 4-6 Months (Contract Assignment) strong possibilities of extension
This is a field assignment where the Phlebotomist will perform responsibilities at various ISNP locations in addition to the home care center
Job Summary:
Mobile Phlebotomist
Performs routine blood and specimen collection activities using established patient identification, labeling, and handling procedures. Prepares patients for collection, follows sterile technique, documents collection activity, and supports safe specimen movement to laboratory processing. Laboratory Phlebotomist Specialist I performs routine clinical support tasks under close supervision, following established checklists and protocols to support accurate execution. Decisions reference clearly defined procedures and have limited impact beyond own work. Laboratory Phlebotomist Specialist I applies basic clinical support skills to well-defined tasks, with work reviewed routinely by licensed clinical staff.
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
• Collect blood specimens using approved venipuncture and capillary collection techniques.
• Verify patient identity, test orders, specimen labels, and collection requirements before drawing specimens.
• Prepare patients for specimen collection and explain routine collection steps in a clear and professional manner.
• Label, handle, and route specimens according to established laboratory and safety procedures.
• Maintain collection supplies, clean collection areas, and follow infection control and sharps safety protocols.
• Document collection activity, unsuccessful attempts, and specimen issues in applicable systems.
• Escalate difficult collections, patient concerns, or specimen discrepancies to more experienced staff or clinical leadership.
