LOCATION: Residential Care - Los Angeles, CA
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for performing delegated clinical and administrative duties, specifically direct support to primary care providers and direct care to patients at various mobile locations. Responsible to work in partnership with other team members with him will be jointly accountable in achieving clinic goals.
ACCOUNTABLE TO: RC IE LEAD
JOB DUTIES: Responsible to perform duties under the direction of the physician or nurse in examination and treatment of patients, including the following:
- Serve as a patient advocate during patient exam and treatment
- Administer and document immunizations and vaccinations including psychotropic injectables, and obtain laboratory specimens
- Ensure proper consent forms and patient information are obtained prior to preparing a patient for treatment
- Prepare patients for doctor examination, position instruments and equipment and assist physician
- Record patients' medical history, medications, allergies, vital statistics, and information such as test results in medical records
- Schedule appointments
- Responsible for mobile medical supplies
- Provider assistance during examinations and treatments, including but not limited to telehealth visits and assisting remotely
- Under provider direction, authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies
- Perform accurate documentation of all procedures in a timely manner
- Correctly dispose of infection waste and biohazard materials
- Clean and disinfect exam rooms, lab areas, and autoclave instruments
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedure in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and excellent customer service
- Attend all required meetings and trainings.
- May be required to pick-up vaccines, medical supplies, etc.
- Consistently demonstrate and uphold CCCHC's principle of providing quality health and human services to the medically underserved and low-income populations in a culturally sensitive manner.
- Required to know, follow, and enforce safe work practices, and be aware of company policies and procedures related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and data integrity in accordance with Health Information Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations and maintain security of protected health information (PHI)
- Required to take phone calls and assist front office
- Punctuality and Attendance: This is an essential job duty for CCCHC's employees given the impact on patients.

Special Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Attributes:
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Comfortable working with severely persistently mentally ill patient
- Ability to be highly organized and work well under pressure
- Ability to convey a positive and professional image to patients and employees.
- Ability to use a computerized patient system (EMR)
- Demonstrate proficiency in various PC applications, including E-mail, Microsoft Program, and networking devices
- Ability to be Flexible (varied schedule and willing to work weekends)
Education and Experience Requirements
- Medical Assistant Certification or Diploma required (Certified by the state preferred).
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
- Must have an up-to-date CPR/BLS Certificate.
- Must possess a dependable automobile, current California Driver License, and insurance.
- Willing to travel to various locations (approximately 50-mile radius from office)
