A day in this role
You start your shift with a dispatch: a work truck in the field needs attention. As a Mobile Hydraulic Field Service Technician with Reading Truck, you roll out prepared—diagnosing auxiliary (after-market) mobile hydraulic systems, repairing what’s needed on-site, and getting that customer back to work safely and quickly. Between calls, you may return to the shop to complete repairs, maintenance, welding, and fabrication on customer units that come back in.
What you’ll do
- Perform road service on after-market mobile hydraulic equipment for work trucks
- Complete in-shop repair, maintenance, welding, and fabrication on returned customer equipment as needed
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hydraulic, mechanical, and related issues
- Develop standardized repair procedures to address recurring warranty concerns
- Carry out other duties as assigned
What you bring
- Hands-on experience with mechanical and hydraulic repair
- Strong customer service mindset and communication skills
- Welding and 12-volt electrical experience (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Flexibility to work non‑traditional schedules based on workload
- Personal set of tools
