Sunup in Arizona. A call comes in from a municipality whose snow-ready fleet won’t start. By noon, you’re in Nevada hoisting a boom with your crane to access a hydraulic fault. Tomorrow might be a farm in Texas or a construction site in California. At Transwest Mobile, you own the fix from first diagnosis to final test drive—keeping critical equipment in the field and out of the shop across Arizona, California, Nevada, Texas, and Utah.
What your day looks like
- Tackle advanced maintenance and corrective repairs on heavy-duty diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and farm machinery.
- Pinpoint root causes using OEM/service manuals, laptop diagnostics, and advanced tooling.
- Handle scheduled PMs and urgent breakdowns independently while adhering to safety and performance standards.
- Operate cranes and other specialty equipment to access hard-to-reach components.
- Walk customers through findings, options, and next steps—clear, confident communication is your hallmark.
- Capture thorough notes, parts usage, and steps taken in accurate service records.
- Coach junior techs in best practices and collaborate with teammates to refine processes.
- Stay current on emerging tech and translate that knowledge into faster, better repairs.
What you bring
- High school diploma or GED.
- 5+ years hands-on experience in diesel, hydraulic, or electrical systems.
- Expertise with diagnostic software, meters, and OEM/service literature.
- Calm, methodical troubleshooting under pressure in fast-paced environments.
- Your own professional toolset suitable for field work.
- Strong organization—able to prioritize, sequence, and multitask.
- Valid driver’s license; comfortable operating a company vehicle (mobile role).
- Ability to pass background checks.
- Physical readiness: lift 50+ pounds; work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
Preferred
- ASEs or OEM training (Cummins, Detroit, Ford).
- Proven field service/mobile repair experience.
- Exceptional communication and customer service abilities.
- History of customer-facing work or leading projects on job sites.
