About the role
Each day starts with a loaded cargo van and a schedule of customer visits across Northern Illinois. You’ll arrive on site, listen to the issue, and dive into diagnostics on commercial floor-care systems—from automatic scrubbers and extractors to vacuums and robotic cleaning equipment. With schematics in hand and a multimeter at the ready, you’ll pinpoint faults, determine parts, complete repairs, and clearly explain your findings to customers. This is not an entry-level technician position.
What you’ll do
- Independently diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic problems on commercial cleaning equipment at customer facilities
- Use wiring diagrams, schematics, service manuals, and diagnostic tools (including a multimeter) to identify root causes—not just swap parts
- Specify needed parts and document services performed with accuracy and clarity
- Manage your field schedule, prioritize repairs, and see work through to completion
- Communicate professionally with customers, setting expectations and providing updates
What you already bring
- 3+ years hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing electro-mechanical equipment
- Proven diagnostic mindset focused on finding and fixing the true failure
- Comfort reading electrical diagrams and service literature
- Experience using a multimeter and other diagnostic instruments
- Strong mechanical aptitude paired with working knowledge of electrical circuits
- Ability to work independently in the field and represent the company at customer sites
- Detail orientation to identify parts and accurately record repair actions
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
