Job Summary
Responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of various crane equipment including mobile cranes (All Terrain, Rough Terrain, Crawler Cranes, Boom Trucks, knuckle booms, bucket trucks, etc.). Electrical and hydraulics experience preferred. A skills aptitude test is required as part of the hiring process.
Key Responsibilities
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Mobile Crane Mechanic/Technician, able to operate and inspect cranes to diagnose defects
- Working knowledge of CANBUS, PAT, EKS, ECOS, LICCON, and Greer systems
- Examines parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges
- Reads and understands operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Tests mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper operation and OEM compliance
- Prepares for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness
- Capable of working independently without direct supervision
- Maintains conformity to safety requirements, manufacturer procedures, and other regulations
- Properly completes working reports, hours reports, timesheets, work orders, and expense reports
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Overtime and weekend work is a plus. Shop technicians typically work 40 to 50 hours a week depending on workload
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record required for field technician positions
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with various mobile crane equipment, specifically Grove RT and TMS Cranes, Grove GMK European Cranes, Manitowoc, Liebherr, Terex, Palfinger, IMT, Cormach, National, Demag, Manitex, and similar brands
