You arrive in your well-organized service vehicle, quickly diagnose a hydraulic fault, and have the crane back online before lunch. By afternoon, you’re completing a scheduled preventive maintenance visit and an Annual DOT inspection for another customer—closing the loop with accurate documentation before you wrap.     Role Snapshot

    This is a remote role based in Pittsburgh, PA, reporting to the Regional Field Service Manager. You’ll service PALFINGER customers’ truck-mounted equipment in the field with a high degree of independence and professionalism.

    What You’ll Do

    • Diagnose and repair articulating cranes, truck-mounted forklifts, conveyors, trucks, and trailers at customer locations.
    • Complete quarterly preventive maintenance per customer schedules, perform Annual DOT inspections, and handle warranty service tasks.
    • Respond to emergency and unscheduled service calls during and outside standard business hours.
    • Clearly communicate mechanical issues, repair needs, and timelines to job site leads and fleet managers.
    • Document service activities promptly, including estimates, authorizations, parts ordering and tracking, labor, and inventory records.
    • Adhere to all applicable state and federal safety regulations.
    • Keep your company vehicle, tools, and on-site work areas clean and orderly.

    What You Bring

    • Hands-on strength in mechanics, hydraulics, electrical systems, diagnostic troubleshooting, and welding.
    • Ability to work outdoors in all weather; able to sit, stand, bend, squat, crouch, reach, and lift 75+ lbs for extended periods.
    • 3+ years of mechanical experience or training, ideally focused on articulating cranes and forklifts.
    • Fluency in spoken and written English.
    • Valid CDL or the willingness to obtain one within 60 days of hire.
    • Personal hand tools; PALFINGER-specific tools provided.
