Job Summary/Description:

We're looking for an entry-level Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) to join our team at KOLN, 10/11 News - the #1 station in Lincoln. What You'll Do:

• Own the narrative: Generate original story ideas for both broadcast and digital platforms that reflect the unique spirit of Central Nebraska.
• Anchor with authority: Step behind the desk as a fill-in anchor, taking on producing and writing responsibilities to ensure a seamless, high-energy newscast.
• Drive digital engagement: Create compelling content for our website and social media channels, reaching our audience wherever they are.
• Master the craft: Use industry-standard tools like ENPS and Edius to edit and produce high-quality visuals and scripts under tight deadlines.
• Connect in person: Represent Local4 at public functions and community events, building the relationships that lead to the best stories.
• Collaborate for excellence: Work with our award-winning team to push the boundaries of what local journalism can be in a digital-first world.

Qualifications/Requirements:

What You Bring:

• A storyteller's heart: You have a college degree in Journalism (or equivalent experience) and a burning desire to tell stories that matter.
• Professional polish: You bring experience from a professional news station and feel at home both in the field and on the anchor desk.
• Technical savvy: You're comfortable with ENG equipment and have a working knowledge of ENPS and Edius (or you're a fast learner who's ready to dive in).
• Deadline dominance: You thrive under pressure and know how to deliver quality work when the clock is ticking.
• Authentic connection: You don't just report; you listen. You authentically demonstrate that you care about the community on-air and online.
• Creative communication: You know how to use visuals and writing to make a story pop, whether it's a 90-second package or a social media reel.
• Reliability: You have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record (because the best stories aren't found in the newsroom).
