Court Name/Organization Florida Middle Federal Public Defender Overview of the Position The Federal Public Defender for the Middle District of Florida (MDFL) is accepting applications for multiple positions for a Mitigation Specialist/Investigator in the Capital Habeas Unit (CHU). The dedicated team of attorneys, mitigation specialist/investigators, paralegals, and legal assistants in the CHU advocate for indigent prisoners under Florida death sentences. The Mitigation Specialist/Investigator will assist with the full scope of our work, which includes all stages of federal habeas corpus proceedings, as well as stay litigation, method of execution challenges, and executive clemency.
