Description
SAIC is currently seeking a talented and experienced Mission Planning Aviator to provide support to the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Aviation & Missile Center supporting efforts in Huntsville, Alabama on Redstone Arsenal.
The Senior Solutions Delivery Specialist will be responsible for but not limited to the following duties:
- Apply military aviation mission-planning and flight-operations knowledge to evaluate system capabilities, operational workflows, and user-reported issues.
- Collaborate with Soldiers, government stakeholders, software developers, testers, systems engineers, and cross-functional Agile teams to develop, enhance, test, and evaluate new or existing capabilities.
- Translate user-reported operational problems into clear technical descriptions, reproducible steps, expected behavior, and supporting evidence for software-development and test teams.
- Support requirements analysis, technical reviews, test planning, simulator-based evaluation, regression testing, user acceptance activities, and defect resolution.
- Perform work primarily in a computer-based office or laboratory environment, including extended analysis using mission-planning systems and flight simulators.
- Supervises or collaborates with other team members performing technical efforts.
- This position does not include flight duties.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelor''s degree and fourteen (14) years' experience; additional four (4) years' experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
Required Clearance:
- Must possess an active Secret security clearance.
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated military aviation mission-planning, flight-operations, or closely related operational aviation experience.
- Working knowledge of aviation flight-planning concepts, including routes, airspace, airports, navigation aids, aeronautical data, and applicable Instrument Flight Rules and Area Navigation concepts.
- Ability to work independently with limited oversight to analyze complex operational and technical issues, identify potential root causes, develop alternative courses of action, and provide recommendations to program stakeholders.
- Practical understanding of aircraft configuration, flight performance, weight and balance, and takeoff and landing planning.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex hardware, software, operating-system, configuration, or data-related issues.
- Demonstrated ability to independently learn and apply unfamiliar technical systems, operational concepts, data formats, or software tools.
- Ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple concurrent assignments while communicating status, risks, and dependencies.
- Collaborate effectively with operational users, engineers, software developers, testers, program leadership, and government stakeholders.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to explain technical subjects to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Candidates are not expected to possess every preferred qualification. Experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable:
- Experience as a rated military aviator, Instrument Examiner (IE), Instructor Pilot (IP), Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP), Tactical Operations Officer (TACOPS), or Aviation Mission Survivability Officer experience (AMSO) with Army aviation experience.
- Operational experience with the Aviation Mission Planning System (AMPS), Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS), or another military mission-planning, flight-planning, electronic-flight-bag, moving-map, or command-and-control system.
- Experience with one or more Army aviation platforms, including MH/UH-60, AH-64, MH/CH-47, MV-75 or fixed-wing aircraft; rotary-wing experience is preferred.
- Flight experience in a technically advanced or glass-cockpit aircraft.
- Experience performing or evaluating aircraft performance planning, weight and balance, Performance Planning Card (PPC) calculations, or Takeoff and Landing Data (TOLD) calculations in accordance with applicable Aircrew Training Manuals.
- Familiarity with geospatial information, aeronautical data, data conversion, database concepts, or structured data formats such as XML, JSON, CSV, or SQL.
- Experience working on an.
- Knowledge of formal systems-engineering or software-engineering processes, including requirements development, requirements traceability, interface analysis, verification and validation, configuration management, and change control.
- Experience troubleshooting Windows-based enterprise systems, including application logs, system services, networking, security policies, software dependencies, and hardware interfaces.
- Experience using scripting, automation, or data-analysis tools such as PowerShell, Python, Excel Power Query, or comparable technologies.
