Job Summary
TMD Staffing is seeking an experienced Mineral Processing Plant Operator for a contract to hire opportunity in Cedar Park, Texas. This position is responsible for operating and monitoring a specialized mineral processing pilot plant equipped with mills, cyclones, and magnetic separation systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in mining, mineral processing, chemical processing, or heavy industrial plant operations and possess strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely start up, operate, monitor, and shut down mineral processing equipment.
- Optimize process performance by adjusting flow rates, pressures, densities, and other operating parameters.
- Operate mills, cyclones, magnetic separators, and associated processing equipment.
- Troubleshoot process and equipment issues to minimize downtime.
- Perform minor mechanical repairs, maintenance, and equipment adjustments as needed.
- Move raw materials, operate feed systems, and collect process samples for testing and analysis.
- Maintain accurate operational records, production data, and equipment logs.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in mineral processing, mining operations, chemical processing, pilot plants, or similar industrial environments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and make operational decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with pumps, conveyors, process equipment, and industrial systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation, and safety compliance.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and work in an industrial environment for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in noisy, dusty, wet, and industrial plant conditions.
