Mill Production Operators — Urgently hiring in Eugene!
Job Title: Mill Production Operators
Pay: $26.21–$26.95 per hour
Hours: Swing Shift — Monday-Friday, 2:00PM-12:30AM
Start Date: ASAP

We are currently hiring for multiple positions on the swing shift, with opportunities available in banding, paper wrapping, forklift operation, and lumber tallying.

Available Positions
Bander Operator: 1 opening — $26.21/hour
Paper Wrap: 2 openings — $26.21/hour
Forklift Driver: 1 opening — $26.95/hour
Tally Person: 1 opening — $26.85/hour

What You'll Do
Depending on the position, responsibilities may include:
  • Inspect lumber units for quality, sorting, and packaging concerns
  • Prepare and finish lumber units according to company standards
  • Bump loads to ensure units are square and properly aligned
  • Apply end seal and trim long ends using a chainsaw according to safety procedures
  • Verify tags, stencil units, and complete required paperwork
  • Prepare lumber units for wrapping according to customer and company requirements
  • Remove stickers, tags, or other materials as needed
  • Inspect units for product, packaging, or safety concerns
  • Safely install and secure paper wrap around lumber units
  • Staple and properly position paper wrap for final packaging
  • Safely operate a forklift in a busy lumber mill environment
  • Transport, stack, and stage lumber throughout production, storage, and shipping areas
  • Keep the resaw and other production areas supplied with material
  • Move units from the green chain and other production areas
  • Load trucks and other transportation equipment when trained and authorized
  • Accurately tally lumber and finished products
  • Maintain production, inventory, and shipping records
  • Track customer orders and communicate when quantities are complete
  • Identify shortages, discrepancies, or other order concerns
  • Verify lumber size, grade, markings, tags, packaging, and banding

  • Previous sawmill, lumber, manufacturing, warehouse, or related experience preferred; previous sawmill or wood-products experience is required for some positions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers
  • Ability to perform physical work, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive movements
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Basic math and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Willingness to work overtime, alternate shifts, or provide off-shift coverage when needed

Location & Schedule
This position is on-site in Eugene, Oregon, working Swing Shift, Monday-Friday from 2:00PM-12:30AM. Overtime, alternate shifts, and off-shift coverage may be required based on production needs.
