PGS Worldwide is seeking a Military Vehicle Field Technician in Huntsville, Alabama for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of military wheeled and tracked vehicles, including M270, M270A1, and HIMARS systems.
High school diploma or equivalent with additional technical training or equivalent hands-on experience.
1+ year of relevant vehicle, diesel, mechanical, or equipment-maintenance experience.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing gasoline and diesel engines.
Strong vehicle troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Ability to use standard automotive, diesel, and mechanical maintenance tools.
Ability to complete required post-hire forklift, climatic, spirometry, and DOT physical requirements.
Experience maintaining military wheeled or tracked vehicles.
Experience with M270, M270A1, HIMARS, MLRS, Bradley, M1A1, HUMVEE, or HEMTT platforms.
Heavy-duty diesel technician or military vehicle mechanic experience.
Familiarity with Redstone Arsenal operations.
Experience maintaining forklifts, tugs, trailers, construction equipment, or other material-handling equipment.
Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on M270, M270A1, and HIMARS military vehicles.
Diagnose and repair gasoline and diesel engine systems.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic subsystems.
Perform testing and checkout of vehicle systems and equipment.
Maintain and repair material-handling and ordnance-support equipment, including forklifts, tugs, and trailers.
Provide technical guidance for difficult or unusual maintenance problems.
Analyze maintenance issues and recommend improvements to maintenance processes.
Perform preventive-maintenance inspections and safety-equipment checks.
Support field operations and equipment maintenance away from primary company facilities as required.
