PGS Worldwide is seeking a Military Vehicle Field Service Technician in Huntsville, Alabama for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will provide hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and technical support for wheeled and tracked military vehicles and related equipment. The technician will diagnose complex mechanical issues, support field operations, and provide technical guidance to help keep equipment mission-ready.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with 0–3 years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting wheeled and/or tracked vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines.
- Experience diagnosing mechanical and vehicle-system malfunctions.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify vehicle systems and related equipment.
- Ability to provide technical guidance on difficult or unusual maintenance problems.
- Safety shoes are required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience maintaining military vehicles such as M270, M270A1, HIMARS, MLRS, Bradley, M1A1, HUMVEE, or HEMTT platforms.
- Experience with heavy equipment such as bulldozers, front-end loaders, or similar vehicles.
- Familiarity with operations at Redstone Arsenal.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair wheeled and tracked military vehicles.
- Support platforms including M270, M270A1, HIMARS, and other military vehicle systems.
- Troubleshoot gasoline and diesel engine problems and perform corrective maintenance.
- Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify equipment, integrated systems, and subsystems.
- Analyze equipment performance and diagnose malfunctions to minimize downtime.
- Support installation, upgrades, removals, and engineering field changes.
- Provide technical guidance for complex or unusual maintenance problems.
- Evaluate maintenance activities and recommend improvements to maintenance programs and processes.
- Maintain effective communication with customers and field personnel.
- Provide onsite technical instruction or training to customer support personnel as needed.
