Summary:
Serves as principal technical advisor and administrator for communication, IT, and cryptographic systems within a DoW unit.
Manages lifecycle of hardware, software, and secure networks in an Impact Level 5 (ILS) environment.
Coordinates with Base Communications Squadrons and Enterprise Service Desks for NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS accounts, workstations, and network drops.
Manages operational readiness of land mobile radios, tactical satellite systems, and UHF/VHF radios.
Serves as Unit Cryptographic Security (COMSEC) Responsible Officer (CRO), coordinating receipt, distribution, safeguarding, destruction, and loading of cryptographic keying material (KYK-13, SKL).
Directs IT Asset Management (ITAM) program maintaining 100% accountability for communications electronics assets, server racks, user endpoints, and secure peripherals.
Partners with cybersecurity personnel to identify network vulnerabilities, verify IAVA compliance, and assist with mitigation strategies.
Coordinates field-level maintenance and testing of communications equipment.
Maintains strict inventory control over tactical communications gear.
Oversees NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS node logistics.
Requirements:
Active Top Secret Security Clearance required to start.
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent military communications experience (e.g., USAF 3D/1D7, Army 25-Series, Navy IT).
5+ years of military or DoD contractor experience in communications management, network operations, or secure systems administration.
Expert-level familiarity with KIK-11/KIK-20/KIK-30 (Simple Key Loader - SKL), Automated Information System (AIS) tracking databases, and DoD IT ticketing platforms (Remedy/vESD).
Must meet DoD 8577.01-M / DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II minimum requirements (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE).
Must possess or complete Cryptographic Representative Officer (CRO) certification course within 30 days of hire.
Experience with NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS network provisioning and troubleshooting.
Experience managing LMR, TACSAT, and UHF/VHF radios.
Experience with COMSEC keying material handling and loading (KYK-13, SKL).
